Betting Terms



 Football


 1. Full Time Result: To predict whether the result will be win, lose or draw. It is also called as 1 X 2 betting. The 1 marks the home win, the X marks the draw and the 2 marks the away win.


 2. Accumulator: An accumulator or parlay bet is a single bet dependent on other wagers, and the outcome is dependent on other wagers winning.


 There are number of different accumulators


 Double: A double is a single bet placed on two different selections to win.


Treble: A single bet placed on three different selections to win.


Fourfold, Fivefold and many more are based on number of times the selections


are made.


3. Asian Handicap(AH): Asian Handicap is a very popular bet that offers punters a possibility for one of only two winning outcomes. Asian Handicap gives a weaker team a handicap start and removes the possibility of the draw. There are two types of handicap named single handicap and double handicap.


Half Handicap (-.5, -1.5, -2.5): A match is scheduled between X and Y. Team X +.5 Vs Team Y -.5: Team X is given .5 goal start against Team Y. Team X will win if Team X win or match is draw. Team Y will win if Team Y score more than one goal. Same conditions are applied to -1.5, -2.5 handicap bets.


Full Handicap (+1.0, +2.0, +3.0):  Team X +1.0 Vs Team Y -1.0


Team X is given 1 goal start against Team Y. Team X will win if Team X win or match is draw. Team Y will will if Team Y score more than two goal. There is chance of draw if Team Y scores two goals. 


Split Handicap: In split handicap betting, the stake is divided equally and placed into separate bets. 


Team X (0, -.5) Vs Team Y (0, +.5)


If you bet on team X then you win if the team wins by one goal or more. If it draws you lose half of the stake and other half is returned. If you bet on team Y then you win if the team wins the match. If match is draw, half of your stake is won and other half of the stake is returned.


 4. Total Goals: To predict whether the total number of goals are more or less than the number of goals quoted. Bookmakers usually propose Over/Under at 2.5 goals. A Under bet is won if 2 goals maximum are scored and lost if 3 or more are scored during the match.


  5. Correct Score (CS): To predict the final score of the match.


 6. First Goal Scorer: To predict who will score the first goal from the players listed. No refund is made if a player is unable to participate in the match.


 7. Last Goal Scorer: To predict who will score the last goal from the players listed. No refund is made if player is unable to participate in the match.


 8. Score/ No Score: To predict whether a specific team, will or will not score a goal in the match.


 9. Half Time/ Full Time: To predict the match outcome will be at half-time and at full time.  Extra time and penalty shoot-outs do not count.


Horse Racing


1. Win: To predict the winner of the race.


2. Place: To predict the placement of the horse in the race. In place bet, there should be more than four runners.5-7 runners: 1st and 2nd positions placed. 8+ runners: 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions placed. Handicap 16+ runners: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions placed. Select a runner that you think will finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th.


3. Each-Way: Each-way consists of two bets: Win and Place. Half stake is placed on Win and other half stake is placed on Place. If you win, both the Win and Place parts of your bet will pay out. If you position placed, you will lose the Win part but get paid out on the Place part.


Handicap and Non-Handicap Race


In a handicap race the better horses are required to carry extra weight so that all horses have an equal chance of winning. In non-handicap race horses are not required to carry additional weight.

4. Exacta: To predict the 1st and 2nd place in the correct order. Exacta is very difficult to predict but the paying amount is much greater.


5. Accumulators: An accumulator bet is a single bet which is linked on other bets and the result is bet on other bets win. In accumulator, one win stake is placed on second bet and so on. If one of your selection of bet lose, the whole accumulator bet loses. The advantage of accumulator is you carry away a huge chunk of amount. The disadvantage of accumulator is a large amount is placed on final race and if you doesn’t win, you lost all the winnings.


 Double: To predict on two selections, each selection must win to gain a return.


 Treble: To predict on three selections, each selection must win to gain a return.


6. Trifecta: To predict the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions in the correct order.


7. Superfecta: To predict the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions in the correct order.


8. Trixie: Four seprate bets: three doubles and a treble. Minimum two bets need to be win.


9. Yankee: Eleven seprate bets: six doubles, four trebles and a fourfold accumulator. Minimum two bets need to be win.


10. Tote Jackpot: To select the winners of the first six racing at the nominated meeting.


11. Tote Placepot: To select a horse to be placed in each of the six placepot races.


12. Tote Quadpot: To select a horse to be placed in each of the last four placepot races.


13. Tote Scoop6: To select the winners or placed horses in the six nominated races at each Saturday and big meetings.


Cricket


1.  Match betting: To predict who will win the match


2.  Most sixes: To predict which team will hit the most sixes.


3.  Man of the match: To predict who will be man of the match.


4.  Top run-scorer: To predict who will be the top scorer of the match.


5.  Run-Outs: To predict the number of run-outs in a match.


6.  Correct Score: To predict the correct score of the match.


7.  Top Bowler: To predict who will take the most number of wickets.


8.  Odd or Even Run Scores: To predict whether the score will be odd or even.


9.  Series Scores: To predict the total score in the series.


10. Moneyline: To predict the outcome of the match while the odds being set by the bookmaker. If a team has odds as -350 it means you have to risk £3.50 for every £1.00. If a team has odds as +350 it means you will win £3.50 for every £1.00. 


Tennis


1. Match Winner: To predict which player will win his match against his opponent.


2. Set Betting: To predict the exact result of the tennis match and the number of sets it will take to win the match.


3. Correct Games: To predict the exact number of games that will be played in the set.


4. Futures: To predict which tennis player will win in the upcoming tennis tournament.


Basketball


1. Moneyline: To predict the team who will win the game. In USA -250 Vs Tunisia +250 match, the minus represents the favourite and the plus represents the underdog. You need to bet £250 on the USA to win £100 and a bet of £100 on Tunisia will win you £250.


2. Spread Bet: To predict the team who will win the game with point spread. In USA -5(-100) Vs Tunisia +5(+100), If you bet on USA you are betting they will win by more than 5 points. If you are betting on Tunisia you are betting they will lose by less than 5 points, or win the game.


3. Over/Under: To predict whether the actual amount of points scored will be over and under the set total.
